Jimmy White Knocked Out In World Snooker Championship Qualifiers

It’s legends time in the World Championship Qualifiers, after Steve Davis secured his spot in the second round, it’s now Jimmy White’s turn with a clear 10-3 over James Wattana. White will meet Matthew Selt in the next round. 

Jimmy White defeated James Wattana 10-3 in the first qualifying round of the World Championship, Matthew Selt is waiting in the next round. Although the excellent result Jimmy’s start was poor, losing each of the first two frames. From frame three it was the good old Jimmy, winning four frames in a row and the last two frames of the session, to finish with a solid 6-3 lead. White made a fine 106 break and won four consecutive frames to finish the second session with a style, 10-3 impressive triumph for the Englishman.

Over his magnificent career White has played in the World Championship for twenty five time including six finals, his last World Championship appearance was in 2006, then he lost David Gray 5-10 in the first round. To keep his chances for another World Championship visit, White will need to maintain his positive snooker form and pass Matthew Selt in the second round. Selt beat The Chinese Lyu Chenwei by 10-8 in the first round.

The 2015 China Open semi finalist Kurt Maflin defeated David Grace by 10-5, to meet the great Steve Davis in the second round. The Belgian Luca Brecel enjoyed a splendid 10-0 whitewash against Saqib Nasir, to meet Andrew Higginson in the next round. Robert Milkins took his match with a 10-6 win over William Lemons, Milkins will face Derryl Hill in the second round.

The Thai player Dechawat Poomjaeng which is well remembered from the 2013 World Championship won his match against Daniel Wells, Poomjaeng made a nice 129 break in frame nine to complete a 10-8 victory. Tom Ford Defeated Andrew Norman 10-2, his opponent in the second round is David Gilbert.
